Colin Beavan Common Experience

Colin Beavan discussed alot of issues throughout his presentation. He's mainly worried that a lot of us are not getting involved in these issues that dont seem very serious now, but could become potentially dangerous in the future. Colin is afraid we have this idea that we have to pick between helping the world or helping ourselves and most people choose themselves, but he explains that both can be done at the same time. It was also inspirational that they Beavan family figured out that helping the environment helped their family more than they could imagine. Such as getting organic diapers for Isabella instead of plastic made her much more happy. A little difference, but that's what matters the most. My attendance in recycling, not littering, etc would help out the world and even myself. It may only make a small difference, but it would still make a small change. "In the future when we have so many emergencies in the world, do you want to live in a world where we shoot eachother, or a world where we help eachother around the bases." -Colin Beavan-
